As they sing "Skating, Skating", the kids try to keep Barney from falling. After they say goodbye to the snowman, Barney and the kids come to a slippery frozen pond, which they skate on. The snowman asks Barney and the kids to follow the sign to Santa's workshop. The sleigh lands on the North Pole.Īs the group dismounts the sleigh, they see a living snowman, who sings "Winter's Wonderful", with the kids joining in at the next verse.

They sing "Jingle Bells" along the way and pass by a lot of snow below them. Barney starts the engine and they're off. He leads the kids to do the Barney shake and they're teleported to the sleigh on top of Derek's roof ("Up on the Housetop"). Barney says he has his magic sleigh to take them there. Luci asks how they're going to get to the North Pole. He does the shake the right way round, which conjures the kids wearing their winter clothes. Barney is goofed up and says he must have done it backwards. He does the Barney shake, which mistakenly conjures the kids wearing their summer clothes. Barney says he can help the kids with that. But the kids are still in their pajamas and not dressed for the North Pole. Derek is glad to meet Barney and the Backyard Gang.īarney invites Derek to be a member of his gang, but Derek is worried about Santa not knowing where he lives, so Barney says he thinks that if he and the gang would visit the North Pole, Santa would really know. In his bedroom, Derek recites "Star Light, Star Bright", and says he wishes he had new friends, before Barney and the kids land in Derek's bedroom. (sung to the tune of "B-I-N-G-O")īarney suggests that he and the kids would like to come visit Derek, so with a little "shimbaree shimbarah", they take a trip to Derek's bedroom. Barney tells the kids that he just moved there and doesn't have any new friends, not to mention that Santa doesn't even know where he lives. (sung to the tune of "This Old Man") Adam asks why Barney brought them to Michael and Amy's house.īarney shows the kids a new kid on the block, name of Derek. Before that explained, Barney brings in the rest of the Backyard Gang - Tina, Luci, and Adam. As they pull Barney out of the chimney, Michael fell over!īarney says he just had a chat with Santa, who has offered them to do a special job. Just then, they hear Barney coming down the chimney, and gets stuck, just like Santa.

Michael denies since that if Santa sees them awake, he might go back up the chimney, but then accepts, and the two of them sit on the steps and sing a song to help them wait ("Waiting for Santa"), but then fall asleep safely afterwards. Then, Amy asks if it would be better if she and Michael waited on the steps. As Michael and Amy sit down, Amy feels a little worried about Santa Claus, when Michael tells her that he's not quite sure he'll come as long as they're waiting up that point! He has a poem to remind his sister:

They want to see Santa, and see that the milk and cookies are still here, but Michael tells Amy that Santa won't come as long as they're awake. Michael and Amy are awake in the night before Christmas.
